Quantum Circuits has officially completed its merger with D-Wave in a deal valued at 550 million dollars. Ray Smets, the company's chief executive, announced the completion in a message. The transaction marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one for quantum innovation, according to Smets. Smets expressed gratitude to the Quantum Circuits team and its board for their contributions to the success of the company. He specifically thanked co-founder Rob Schoelkopf and executive team members for their efforts. Ann Perry, head of corporate development, was recognized for her role in the transaction. Smets congratulated Alan Baratz and the D-Wave team for the vision to bring the two firms together. He noted that the combination of technology and talent from both companies will support future work in quantum computing. Advisors Needham and Company and DLA Piper provided financial and legal counsel for the deal, Smets said. Smets said he is filled with pride for what was achieved and optimism for what comes next as the technology continues its journey.
