French AI infrastructure company Sesterce announced plans to invest more than €10bn in a data centre campus at the former Kaipola paper mill in Jämsä, Finland. Construction of the first phase, with 200 megawatts of capacity, is due to start this year. A second phase would increase capacity to 600MW.

The company plans to reuse the site's power grid, water systems, buildings and logistics connections. Over the next ten years, it aims to add one megawatt of renewable energy to the grid for every megawatt the campus uses.

Site owner Kaipola Green Port says sale negotiations are well underway. Local officials say permits are still required.
