Anthropic says it opened Claude access program for scientists

Anthropic said it opened 10,000 free and discounted Claude subscription seats to scientists worldwide on Aug. 27, while expanding its AI for Science credit grants to all scientific fields. Verified principal investigators at accredited universities and nonprofit institutes can claim standard seats at no cost or premium seats for $15 a month for 12 months, the company said. It also said qualifying projects may apply for up to $50,000 in Claude credits. Anthropic said it has enrolled initial participants in a separate U.S.-government-partnered program for life-sciences professionals to access Mythos-class models.
