# AWS Client VPN adds device checks and automatic disconnection

_Published Monday, October 5, 2026 at 8:21 PM EDT · Security, Infrastructure · Latest · Tier 2 — Notable_

AWS Client VPN now lets administrators check device security before granting network access and automatically disconnect devices that fall out of compliance, AWS announced. The feature integrates with CrowdStrike, Jamf or JumpCloud to evaluate signals including encryption status, compliance scores and risk levels.

Administrators define requirements through Cedar policies, with a tool to test them. A monitoring-only mode logs results without disconnecting users. The feature is available at no additional cost in all regions offering AWS Client VPN and requires AWS VPN Client version 6.2.0 or later.
