Agricultural software provider xFarm Technologies has acquired Brazil-based Sibium Analytics, adding more than 8 million monitored hectares and nine large sugarcane producers to its platform. xFarm already served more than 600,000 farmers across Europe, Brazil and India and managed 24 million hectares.

Sibium contributes crop-monitoring, environmental-audit and analytics products that xFarm plans to offer in Brazil and Europe. Combining those products with sensor readings, machinery data and satellite analysis is intended to trace crops through cultivation, processing and certification. The deal also expands xFarm's ability to produce the audit records required by biofuel buyers and regulators, though the acquisition price was not stated.
