AWS said HealthOmics now publishes real-time run metrics to Amazon CloudWatch, giving customers visibility into workflow resource use while bioinformatics runs execute.

The company said 14 new run metrics cover CPU and GPU usage, memory, file system usage and I/O, network throughput and ephemeral storage. AWS said the metrics can help identify CPU or GPU bottlenecks, detect memory or storage exhaustion before a task fails, and let teams right-size compute and storage by comparing actual usage against allocated resources.

The metrics use the CloudWatch OpenTelemetry standard, so they can feed third-party observability tools as well as native dashboards and alarms. AWS said the feature is available in seven regions and that CloudWatch charges apply based on metric data ingested.
