Radify Metals has secured funding to develop plasma reactor technology that the company says could break China's dominance of rare earth elements while eliminating industrial pollution.

The startup's novel approach uses plasma reactors to process metals, offering what the company claims is a pollution-free alternative to traditional extraction and refining methods. Rare earth elements are critical components in electronics, electric vehicles, and renewable energy technologies.

China currently controls the majority of global rare earth processing capacity, giving it significant leverage over supply chains for advanced technology products. The U.S. and other nations have sought to develop alternative sources to reduce dependence on Chinese production.

Radify's technology, if successful at scale, could provide Western manufacturers with a domestic source of refined rare earths without the environmental damage typically associated with mining and processing these materials.

The funding round was led by climate and industrial technology investors. The company has not disclosed the total amount raised.
