RTX Ventures has invested in Xcimer Energy to develop pulsed excimer-laser technology for potential use in U.S. military directed-energy systems. The companies will examine integrating and containerizing Xcimer's laser technology in RTX defense systems, while the investment also supports Xcimer's fusion program. Xcimer says its approach is designed for repeatable pulses with lower cost and complexity.
