Polish officials suspect that a fire at an Exatel telecommunications facility used by Starlink was set deliberately. Firefighters were called to the site in Wola Krobowska, south of Warsaw, at around 9 p.m. Wednesday. Police and internal security officers joined the investigation after concerns arose about the cause.

The facility carries internet traffic through Poland and to Ukraine, according to digital affairs minister Krzysztof Gawkowski. Ground stations connect Starlink satellites to terrestrial networks. Gawkowski suggested a Russian link but acknowledged that responsibility cannot yet be established. A security services spokesman said it was too early to determine the fire's cause or motive, while evidence pointed toward arson.
