Google Maps changes Lake Ontario label for U.S. users

Google Maps changes Lake Ontario label for U.S. users Image: Primary
Google Maps now labels Lake Ontario as "Lake America" for users in the United States, according to 9to5Google. The outlet said the change follows an executive order issued late last week and an August 27 update to the U.S. Geographic Names Information System by the Department of the Interior. Google confirmed that Canadian users will continue to see Lake Ontario, while users elsewhere will see "Lake Ontario (Lake America)." Apple Maps had not yet made the change, the report said.
