# BloombergNEF lifts forecast for data-center gas demand

BloombergNEF projects that U.S. data centers could consume about 18 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day by 2035, nearly double its forecast from nine months earlier, TechCrunch reported. The forecast includes an assumption that not all announced data-center projects will be completed. BloombergNEF expects grid-connected facilities to drive an additional 15 billion cubic feet a day of power-sector gas consumption, while onsite-powered projects could consume 2.9 billion to 3.4 billion cubic feet a day.
