Amazon will stop accepting new customers for Mechanical Turk

Amazon Web Services will stop accepting new customers for its Mechanical Turk crowdsourcing service effective July 30, 2026. An announcement on the Mechanical Turk website states that the service will be closed to new customers on that date. Existing customers can continue to use the service as normal. AWS said the decision was made after careful consideration and added that it continues to invest in security and availability improvements for Mechanical Turk but does not plan to introduce new features. The company is not shutting down the service entirely for current users.
