China proposes adding AI models and agents to technology export catalog

China proposes adding AI models and agents to technology export catalog Image: Primary
China's commerce and science ministries introduced a draft technology export catalog revision covering large AI models, AI agents and computing clusters on October 16, SecondSource reported. Announcement No. 48 places those technologies within the proposed catalog changes. Technologies that have been open-sourced are excluded from management under the draft. The proposal therefore distinguishes between publicly released technologies and the other AI technologies covered by the revision.
