AI cloud startup Modal raised $750 million at a $15.75 billion post-money valuation, Bloomberg reported. The financing comes amid demand for infrastructure to build and run AI applications.

CEO Erik Bernhardsson discussed the company's more than 3 billion AI sandboxes and demand for inference and reinforcement learning. He said increasingly capable agents need secure virtual environments in which to execute code and eventually undertake longer-running tasks.
