Psiphon plans to move its operations out of Canada if Bill C-22 passes in its current form, Citizen Lab reported, citing The Globe and Mail. The Toronto company says the bill would force it to compromise safety features that protect users' privacy.

The proposed law would require electronic service providers to make secret system changes enabling police and Canadian Security Intelligence Service surveillance and monitoring. Psiphon has 20 million monthly users worldwide who use its software to bypass online censorship, including in Iran, Myanmar, Russia and China.
