Actinide reports research-scale HALEU production in Dallas

Actinide reports research-scale HALEU production in Dallas Image: Primary
Actinide said it enriched natural uranium into high-assay low-enriched uranium, or HALEU, on its first-generation calutron in Dallas. The company said the material was made in research quantities under a laboratory-scale NRC exclusion and that an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory assayed it at 15.38% enrichment. Actinide describes the separator as an electromagnetic system that produces solid HALEU directly, rather than enriching uranium hexafluoride for later conversion. The material would still need fabrication into reactor fuel forms before use.
