Virgin StartUp Opens Free Accelerator Program for Dyslexic Entrepreneurs
LONDON. Virgin StartUp has launched the second round of its accelerator program designed specifically for entrepreneurs with dyslexia, offering free mentorship and funding support for selected participants.
The program, run
Dyslexia affects approximately 10 percent of the population and has been associated with traits common among successful entrepreneurs, including pattern recognition, problem-solving, and spatial reasoning. Research from the London School of Economics has linked dyslexia to higher rates of business formation.
Virgin StartUp's accelerator joins a small number of programs targeting neurodivergent founders. Participants receive structured support over several months, culminating in pitch opportunities to investors.
The initiative reflects growing recognition within the startup ecosystem that traditional accelerator models may not serve all founders equally. Economic analyses suggest diversifying entrepreneurship programs could unlock untapped business potential.
Selected founders will work with mentors who understand the challenges and strengths associated with dyslexia in business contexts. The program does not charge fees or take equity stakes.
Virgin StartUp did not disclose how many slots are available or the total funding allocated to participants. The first cohort launched in 2024.
