Finland's Licensing and Supervision Agency ordered Google subsidiary Tuike Finland Oy to stop construction at data centre sites in Muhos and Kajaani until environmental impact assessments are completed, Tom's Hardware reported. The projects face investigation over alleged clearing of over 740 acres of forest.

The order stops tree and topsoil removal, excavation, quarrying, crushing, soil transfers, ditching, and road and storage construction. Planning, measurements and soil surveys with minimal environmental impacts may continue. Google acknowledged falling short of its standards and said its biodiversity plans include tree planting across 130 hectares at Muhos.
