AWS adds full Iceberg V3 data-type support to S3 Tables

AWS adds full Iceberg V3 data-type support to S3 Tables Image: Primary
AWS has made support for all Apache Iceberg V3 data types available in Amazon S3 Tables across every region that supports the service, at no additional charge. Customers can create V3 tables or upgrade existing V2 tables without rewriting their data. The update adds native storage for semi-structured and geospatial data, deletion vectors that record removed rows, and row identifiers that let pipelines find changes without scanning entire tables. New data types require Apache Spark 4.0 or later and Parquet files. Upgrades are one-way: Iceberg does not support downgrading V3 tables to V2.
