Reddit sets RSS shutdown and tighter access rules for Old Reddit
Image: Primary Reddit announced it will stop supporting RSS feeds on November 13th and further restrict Old Reddit access in the next few months, citing scraping and automated abuse. Users will need to be logged in and have used Old Reddit within six months of the change; logged-in moderators are exempt from the usage requirement.
Reddit says there is no replacement for RSS feeds used outside a community the user moderates. It will also begin removing public data API access for unregistered apps on January 12th, 2027. All remaining public API access will end in March 2027 as apps and bots move to its developer platform.
