BYD sold a record 305,743 battery-electric vehicles in October, up 37% year over year, Electrek reported. Its total sales of new energy vehicles reached 490,168, up 11% from the prior year and its highest monthly total in 2026.

The company exported 170,194 vehicles during October as it expanded overseas. Growth differed sharply by powertrain: plug-in hybrid sales fell 17% to 177,382 units. Through October, BYD sold 1,953,700 battery-electric vehicles, up 6% from the same period last year.
