Meta and real estate firm CBRE have launched a workforce training initiative to prepare data center technicians for jobs at Meta's U.S. construction sites.

The program, called LevelUp, will train fiber technicians responsible for installing technical infrastructure, fiber-optic cables, network gear, and other mission-critical equipment. Training begins this summer at centers established and run by CBRE.

Successful graduates from the four-week program will be eligible to work on Meta's data center construction projects. The training includes both hands-on and classroom elements, according to program registration materials.

No prior experience is required, and participants will receive an hourly wage during training, though the specific amount has not been disclosed. The program will also cover relocation costs for participants.

LevelUp is designed for "people looking to start a new career or recent high school graduates exploring options," according to the program announcement.

Meta's investment in data center infrastructure continues to grow. Earlier this year, the company estimated its capital expenditure would reach between $115 billion and $135 billion for the year, nearly double its 2025 spending. Meta CFO Susan Li said the increase is driven by infrastructure investments.

The company previously announced plans to spend approximately $600 billion on U.S. data centers by 2028. Meta currently has 27 data centers either under construction or operational in the United States, with additional facilities in planning stages.

The LevelUp program represents a workforce development effort as Meta expands its data center footprint to support growing demand for cloud services and artificial intelligence infrastructure.
