Amazon is raising minimum starting pay for eligible U.S. core-operations workers, including delivery drivers and fulfillment-center employees, to $20 an hour. The company said average hourly pay will rise to nearly $24, reflecting a $1-an-hour increase for eligible employees, and put the investment at more than $1.5 billion. Amazon also said workers will receive access to Day 1 Financial, a First Tech Federal Credit Union membership, and grocery discounts. The announcement does not specify the number of eligible workers.
