Instagram says it will rename its "AI creator" label to "AI-generated profile" and limit the reach of accounts that present AI-generated people without labeling them. The company says such accounts will not be recommended to non-followers through Reels and Explore, with an appeal route for wrongly flagged profiles. The action applies to profiles featuring AI-generated people; Instagram says users who generate content with AI tools do not need to add the profile label.
