Antmicro announced support for the Synaptics Astra SR100 MCU series in the Zephyr RTOS. The company is a longtime contributor to the Zephyr Project and provides software services for porting the operating system to new platforms. This marks the first Synaptics platform supported in Zephyr. The SR100 series includes single core SR102 and SR105 variants as well as the dual core SR110. The SR110 combines an Arm Cortex M55 CPU with an Arm Ethos U55 NPU and a low power Cortex M4 coprocessor. These components enable vision and audio processing on battery powered devices for uses including robotics and security sensors. The implementation is now available on GitHub. It includes support for Synaptics SR100 SoCs, the SR100 Astra Machina Micro RDK Board, and specific drivers. The drivers added are for clock control, pinctrl, reset, and AON GPO functions.
