# Ultima Genomics Introduces the Next Generation of Sequencing at Scale with the Launch of the UG200 Series and Next Generation Solaris 2.0 Workflows

Ultima Genomics, Inc., a developer of ultra-high-throughput sequencing systems, has unveiled the UG200 Series and next generation Solaris 2.0 workflows. These advancements provide higher output, better performance and faster turnaround time with flexible wafer configurations and lower instrumentation pricing. Ultima will showcase the technologies at the Advances in Genome Biology and Technology Conference on February 25, 2026.

The UG200 Series consists of the UG200 and UG200 Ultra configurations. The dual-wafer UG200 Ultra platform offers throughput for over 60,000 whole genomes per year at 30x coverage and is priced at $1,250,000. The single-wafer UG200 is priced as low as $850,000 and can be upgraded in the field. Both systems reduce the footprint and weight while enabling a one-day turnaround from library to data. Shipments are set to begin in the second quarter of 2026.

The Solaris 2.0 workflows use next generation amplification technology to improve genomic coverage uniformity and performance in complex regions. They deliver SNVQ-60 accuracy and support germline whole genome sequencing and liquid biopsy applications. The workflows are available for purchase now and can be deployed on standard liquid handling platforms.

Solaris 2.0 Max, planned for the second half of 2026, will enable up to 20 billion reads per wafer. This doubles the per wafer output relative to existing Solaris workflows. Ultima also announced plans for paired-end sequencing on the UG200 Series.

Gilad Almogy, founder and CEO of Ultima Genomics, said the launches represent a major milestone in driving sequencing at scale with improvements in throughput, cost, automation and accessibility. The new workflows will be compatible with UG 100 instruments through in-field upgrades.
