Meta scoops up more of Nvidia's AI chip output
Image: Primary Nvidia has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership with Meta to equip the social network's new AI data centers with its processors. Under the agreement Nvidia will supply Meta with millions of Blackwell and Rubin GPUs.
Meta will integrate Nvidia Spectrum-X Ethernet switches into its Facebook Open Switching System platform. Meta will also expand its use of Nvidia Grace chips in what Nvidia described as the first large-scale Grace-only deployment. Grace CPUs are usually paired with Nvidia Blackwell GPUs.
Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang said in a news release that no one deploys AI at Meta's scale. Meta plans capital expenditure of 115 billion to 135 billion dollars this year mostly on data centers and the computing infrastructure they contain. Meta is keeping it all for itself.
