Nvidia has delayed the Super refresh for its RTX 50-series graphics cards. The updated models were expected at CES 2026 in January but did not appear. Managers decided in December to hold off and prioritize AI chips amid limited RAM supplies.

The Information reports that Nvidia is slashing production of its current RTX 50-series gaming chips. Those cards remain in high demand and sell out consistently at retailers.

The shift comes after record revenue driven by AI chips. Data center revenue made up 51.2 billion dollars of the 57 billion dollars Nvidia reported in Q3 2026 earnings. Gaming revenue increased 30 percent in the same period but represents a smaller share of the total.

The delay means no new Nvidia gaming GPU launch is scheduled for this year. It could also push the RTX 60-series mass production, originally planned for the end of 2027, into 2028 or later.
