Reunion Neuroscience presented the full results of its RECONNECT Phase 2 clinical trial of RE104 for postpartum depression at the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology Annual Meeting. The data were presented in a poster that is available on the company website.

The trial met its primary endpoint with the 30 milligram dose. This produced a 23.0 point reduction in the total score on the Montgomery Asberg Depression Rating Scale on Day 7. The result had a p value of 0.0094.

Efficacy appeared as early as the first day after dosing and lasted through Day 28. Substantial improvements occurred in other key secondary endpoints including response and remission rates. These covered measures of depression, anxiety and maternal function.

The company completed an end of Phase 2 meeting with the Food and Drug Administration. It aligned on the registrational path for the drug in postpartum depression. A Phase 3 trial is planned to start in 2026.

Mark Pollack, chief medical officer, said the results underscore the potential of RE104 as a new standard of care for postpartum depression. The data show the totality of its rapid and durable impact across a range of outcomes, he said.
