Waymo will allow riders as young as 13 to use its autonomous taxi service in Nashville, extending teen accounts beyond Phoenix for the first time. A parent or guardian must connect the account, after which a teenager can request rides throughout Waymo's 50-square-mile Nashville service area and bring as many as three guests ages 13 to 17.

Waymo says Nashville will be the first of multiple teen-account launches in markets with mature operations and permitting regulations. The company did not explain how it will verify riders' ages.
