Intel has launched the Xeon 6+ CPU product line for data centers, edge compute, and telecoms. The chip is the first data center CPU built on Intel's 18A process node. It features up to 288 E-cores, supports 1-2 sockets, and has a max TDP per CPU of 450W.

The Xeon 6+ has 12 memory channels with 8000MT/s DDR5, 96 lanes of PCIe, 64 lanes of CXL, and 576MB of last level cache. Intel claims the Xeon 6990E+ delivers 1.3 times higher average performance per thread and 1.3 times higher performance per thread per watt than AMD's Epyc 9965.

The processors will be supported by major server manufacturers including Dell, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro. Executives highlighted demand for CPUs from agentic AI and noted performance gains in partnerships such as with Ericsson.
