7-Eleven confirmed that attackers gained access to some of its systems in early April.

The company discovered the unauthorized access to franchisee documents on April 8. It notified affected individuals and filed reports in multiple U.S. states.

ShinyHunters claimed responsibility on April 17 and said it stole over 600,000 records from the company's Salesforce environment. The group leaked a 9.4GB archive after the company refused to pay a ransom.

7-Eleven operates over 86,000 stores globally. The breach affected an undisclosed number of individuals with personal information.

ShinyHunters has targeted other Salesforce customers recently, including Instructure, McGraw-Hill, and Medtronic. The FBI advised victims not to pay ransoms.
