Intel says 14A defect reduction is ahead of its internal target curve

Intel Chief Financial Officer David Zinsner said the company's 14A fabrication process is reducing defect density faster than its internal target curve and that internal design teams are developing products for the node. He also said external foundry discussions have shifted toward questions about available capacity. Intel plans to begin risk production of its own 14A products in the second half of 2027 and high-volume manufacturing in 2028. The company has not disclosed current yield figures.
