NFM Lending faces a class-action lawsuit after acknowledging a cybersecurity incident, The Tech Edvocate reports. Former customer Sheneka Smith alleges that the mortgage lender failed to maintain reasonable safeguards for customer data. NFM Lending's legal department said it took immediate action and was following notification and credit-protection procedures.

The ransomware group Interlock claims it stole over 2 terabytes of data, including information from the Encompass loan-origination system, employee files and more than 100 gigabytes of company documents. That account remains the group's claim; the number of people affected has not been confirmed.
