# Anthropic extends 40% Claude discount across government products

Anthropic announced a new General Services Administration agreement giving government buyers a 40% discount on Claude Enterprise, Claude for Government and the Claude API. The discount extends to state, local, tribal and territorial governments and applies to direct purchases now, with cloud-provider purchases following in the coming months.

Agencies can buy through GSA's Multiple Award Schedule without a minimum spending commitment and pay for the usage they consume. Anthropic also plans an implementation support program in the coming weeks. Security authorization differs by product: Claude for Government has FedRAMP High authorization, while Claude Enterprise is still pursuing FedRAMP Moderate authorization.
