Mozilla's Firefox 159 fixes 167 security flaws, including 108 rated high severity, while Google's latest Chrome update patches 52 flaws, including four rated critical and 46 rated high, ZDNET reported.

The fixes address memory-management bugs that could let attackers crash browsers or run malicious code. Some vulnerabilities involve the browsers' sandboxes, the protective boundaries intended to contain code execution.

Firefox 159 covers Windows, Android, macOS and Linux. Chrome's updates cover Windows, Mac and Linux. Mozilla credited OpenAI researcher Amy Burnett with finding many bugs, while Google attributed several discoveries to Anthropic's Claude and a few to OpenAI. Both browsers require a restart to finish updating.
