# AWS enables EMR analytics jobs on IPv6 Kubernetes clusters

AWS says Amazon EMR on EKS now supports running Spark and Flink analytics workloads on IPv6 Amazon EKS clusters. The change gives large jobs access to IPv6's expanded address space without workarounds used to conserve IPv4 addresses, such as secondary address ranges or prefix delegation.

AWS says a 500-executor Spark job can run alongside other jobs without the same address-planning constraint. Existing job submission methods and the Flink, Livy and Spark operators are supported. The capability starts with EMR releases emr-7.14.0 and emr-spark-8.0.0 at no additional cost, in regions where both services support the setup.
