Tom's Hardware reported that high-capacity DDR5 memory prices have risen sharply over the past year. Citing approximate PCPartPicker averages, it said a 64GB DDR5-5600 kit that cost under $200 last summer now costs more than $1,100, while some 128GB kits are about 10 times their recorded low. The report said hyperscale buyers have reportedly reserved much of global DRAM production capacity for 2027, increasing pressure on PC and smartphone makers.
