# Claude outage blocks sign-ins and new sessions after initial errors ease

A Claude service incident is preventing many users from signing in, starting chats and opening Claude Code or Cowork sessions, its status page says. Voice conversations, purchases and file uploads are also affected. Single sign-on and Sign in with Apple are unavailable.

The provider says errors that began at 14:00 UTC were mitigated at 14:36 UTC, and existing conversations are mostly working again. It advised signed-in users to stay signed in while it works on the remaining issue. The interruption still limits access to new work sessions despite the improvement to existing conversations.
