TikTok agreed to pay Alabama at least $100 million to settle allegations that it misled users about safety and designed its app to addict children. The case had been scheduled for trial on Monday.

The Alabama attorney general's office says the total could reach $300 million if certain conditions are met. TikTok also agreed to a two-hour daily limit for underage users, additional parental controls, and restrictions on overnight use and cosmetic filters. The payment beyond $100 million remains conditional.
