AWS opens US account signup with bank payments through ACH

AWS says customers in the United States can now sign up using a US bank account and pay service invoices through ACH direct debit. New customers previously needed a credit or debit card to complete registration. During signup, customers select their bank and authenticate through its mobile app or online banking credentials to verify ownership and link the account. The linked account pays future invoices by default. Existing customers can add a bank account through payment preferences in the AWS billing console. ACH direct debit carries no additional cost and is available for USD bank accounts.
