Proton cancels employee AI re-interviews while maintaining adoption push

Proton cancels employee AI re-interviews while maintaining adoption push Image: Primary
Proton CEO Andy Yen cancelled nearly company-wide re-interviews about employees' AI use on Friday, 404 Media reported, citing six current employees and an all-hands recording. The cancellation followed its investigation into leadership's AI push and employees' security concerns. Yen said leadership had discussed the interviews with Proton's board and decided to cancel them. He also announced a reorganization next month and said there would be no job losses from AI. One employee said measures intended for the interviews would become part of performance reviews. Chief technology officer Bart Butler said effective AI use did not mean abandoning security or sound software engineering.
