VulnCheck reports remote-access implants in ZBT router firmware
Image: Primary Researchers at VulnCheck reported three backdoor-like implants in firmware used by ZBT-manufactured routers, including white-labeled products sold internationally. The report says ENDLESSDOORS appeared in firmware for 20 models and could execute commands as root; VulnCheck also found 203 exposed DARKLANTERN instances in 22 countries. The mechanisms could allow remote control or credential theft, depending on the implant. The findings are reported by Tom's Hardware from VulnCheck research, rather than an official vendor remediation notice.
