Battery Smart, an electric-vehicle battery-swapping startup, raised ₹185.5 crore ($19.5 million) in a Series C round, according to company filings with India's Registrar of Companies.

Existing investor Rising Tide Ventures led the financing, joined by Ecosystem Integrity Fund and Blume Ventures. The company said proceeds will support expansion, capital expenditure, working capital and general corporate purposes. Battery Smart operates a swapping network for electric two- and three-wheelers, allowing drivers to exchange depleted batteries for charged ones rather than wait to recharge.
