Google announced a preview of managed enterprise search with Gemini on Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped, allowing regulated organizations to query files without connecting to the public internet or Google's global infrastructure. Google says prompts, responses, documents and embeddings stay inside the customer's network.

The service retrieves relevant material from uploaded files and gives answers with source citations. It processes text, images, audio and video locally, using Gemini on NVIDIA B300 GPUs, and retains conversations between sessions. Users sign in through their organization's identity provider, with chats and files private to each user. Uploads are limited to 100 MB per file and 500 MB per chat.
