NVIDIA surges on expanded Marvell partnership for AI data center infrastructure
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP). NVIDIA Corp. shares climbed 5.9% Friday after the chipmaker deepened its collaboration with Marvell Technology to accelerate AI data center deployments. The companies are co-developing next-generation networking and custom silicon solutions targeting hyperscale cloud providers. The partnership expansion comes as NVIDIA works to diversify beyond GPU sales amid intensifying competition from AMD, Intel and custom chip designs from Amazon and Google. Analysts said the tie-up strengthens NVIDIA's position in the high-margin interconnect market, a growing bottleneck as AI clusters scale to hundreds of thousands of processors. Marvell shares also gained on the news. The deal underscores how semiconductor firms are racing to build comprehensive AI infrastructure stacks rather than discrete components.
