# Biograil closes €20 million round for oral drug delivery development

Copenhagen-based Biograil has closed a €20 million funding round to advance an oral device intended to deliver drugs that otherwise require injections. Verve Ventures and Megatrend Invest backed the round, with HTGF participating through its Opportunity growth fund.

The company says its BIONDD capsule dissolves in the stomach, releasing a device whose spring-loaded mechanism attaches to the stomach wall and delivers medication into tissue. The device is manufactured using injection moulding.

Biograil plans to fund non-clinical studies and establish a manufacturing process ahead of planned Phase 1 testing and a larger financing in 2027. The funding supports preparation for clinical development rather than completed human trials.
