Meta platforms ran ads for Kromix, an AI image tool whose ads appeared to encourage sexualized deepfakes of female U.S. politicians, WIRED reported. Meta removed the ads after WIRED sought comment; the account ran 32 ads for five to 46 hours, with most receiving 10 or fewer impressions. Apple also removed Kromix from its App Store after WIRED requested comment, according to an Apple spokesperson.
