# Musixmatch buys Music Reports to expand beyond lyrics rights

Musixmatch has announced its acquisition of Music Reports, the US owner of copyright registry Songdex and rights and licensing firm Blokur, Music Ally reported. Financial terms were not announced.

The lyrics company says it will combine its data and technology with Songdex to connect recordings, compositions and rights information. The acquisition extends its planned platform across mechanical, sync, print and performance rights. It also includes Cuetrak, which studios, streaming services and broadcasters use to manage cue sheets.
