Nvidia made cuPotential available in early access, giving developers GPU functions for simulating interactions between atoms and molecules. The company says testing accelerated already GPU-optimized workflows by an additional 2-3x. Synopsys is an early adopter for materials simulations.

The library can be added to existing software and lets AI agents run, evaluate and iterate on molecular simulations. Nvidia also said Lam Research intends to integrate its open-source NanoVDB library into SEMulator3D, with select wafer-etch modeling expected to accelerate by up to 30x. That capability is targeted for release by the end of this year.
